As Love Island USA grew from a hit reality series into a cultural phenomenon, Peacock looked to Civic to help turn its passionate fandom into something more durable: a participatory community that could live beyond the screen and return season after season.
Civic helped build a repeatable model for fan participation rooted in the behaviors that make Love Island unique: watching together, reacting in real time, debating relationships and outcomes, voting and feeling like an active part of the Villa. Rather than simply marketing to viewers, the approach created more ways for fans to engage with the show and with one another.
That community now moves between digital and physical spaces. Through Peacock’s Love Island USA app, viewers vote, access behind-the-scenes content and engage in real time. In Season 8, unique app users at premiere rose 175% versus Season 7, while participation in the second vote increased more than 77% year over year. Fans have also created their own IRL rituals, including watch parties across the country.
Civic has helped give that community new places to gather, most recently through the Love Island USA Villa experience in New York City. The result is a fan ecosystem that extends beyond any single episode, season or activation, making participation itself part of the Love Island USA experience.
